It’s a body of water connected to an ocean but mostly surrounded by land.
The 7 seas were for the ancient Greeks the Adriatic, Aegean, black, caspian, Mediterranean, Red Sea and Persian gulf.
There is the Caribbean Sea made famous by pirates during the 16th and 28th century.
