Evolution of A Sunday breakfast

Sometimes small actions are not easy to explain, until you connect all the little facts. This is much harder to explain when the action, without awareness of facts, are performed with conviction soon after you wake up.

“Ok,” I remember saying just before I woke up in the morning.

While I was awake, my wife got up to spend time in the bathroom. After she returned to bed and fell asleep, I got up, dressed, and went grocery shopping. The store wasn’t crowded since it was Sunday morning.

When I returned, I woke my bride up and invited her to the kitchen to have scrambled “egg beaters and white bread toast she wanted for breakfast.

“ Thank you for the healthily egg substitute,” she happily said. “ How did know I wanted “ egg beaters” rather than real eggs for breakfast.

“You told XO me what you wanted for breakfast this morning before we woke up,” I quickly answered. “Really?” She wasn’t convinced, which was evident by the way she asked the question.

Also, the following Sunday I was the first person in Stop and Shop. I bought “real” bacon this time.

Once again, when I mentioned she asked me to buy it, she asked the question; “Really?”

The following Sunday morning I included cut watermelon for our breakfast.

However this time, while we were asleep, I remember arguing with her about buying the melon would exceed her daily limit of potassium.

This time she didn’t ask the question, “Really?” Rather my bride admitted we argued, while asleep, about whether we should add the watermelon or not to our Sunday breakfast!

“So, I was afraid to admit that we talked to each other while we slept and I’ve never experienced sleep talking before,” she confessed.

“Neither have I, “ was my response.

“We’ll do it more often, since I like getting want at that time of day.”

“Why not. Maybe I’ll get what I want, “ was my hopeful contribution to the topic.”I really really want a classic Ford Mustang. I’d have it painted dark red, my favorite color!”

“Really?” Was my brides lightning fast response!
